What this is
Brain Arena is a free website with logic puzzles. Using it requires no account and no payment. By playing, you accept the few rules below.
What you may do
- Play as much as you like, for free, without an account.
- Share links to any page, including your own result pages once they exist.
- Use screenshots of your results wherever you want.
What you may not do
- Automated play. Scripts, bots and solvers submitting results to the leaderboard spoil the only thing that makes this site worth building. Results obtained that way will be invalidated when detected.
- Overloading the site. Automated mass requests, scraping the whole puzzle pool, attempts to break the API.
- Offensive nicknames. Nicknames appear publicly on the leaderboard. Anything abusive, hateful or impersonating a real person will be removed without notice.
About the leaderboard
The daily challenge and the leaderboard are still being built. When they arrive:
- Time is measured on the server, from the moment a board is issued. Your browser does not decide your time, which is what makes the ranking meaningful.
- A result may be invalidated if it is technically impossible, if it comes from automated play, or if it was submitted in a way that abuses the system. Results are marked invalid rather than deleted, so a mistake on our side can be corrected.
- No accounts means no guarantees about names. Two players may use the same nickname; the flag next to it is the only distinction.
- Records are not property. We may reset a leaderboard if it turns out to be compromised, and we will say publicly when and why.
What we do not promise
- Availability. This is a small site on a single server. It may be unavailable for maintenance or because something broke.
- That your data survives. Your times live in your own browser. Clearing browser data, using private mode, or switching devices loses them, and we cannot recover them for you.
- That the site stays the same. Levels, calibration and features change. Published addresses stay where they are — that is a commitment we do make.
Changes and contact
These terms will change as the site grows, most importantly when the leaderboard launches. Substantive changes will be noted here with a date.
